As part of PNIPH/WHO commitment to road safety; the PNIPH team had a fruitful meeting with H.E. the Minister of Transportation, Assem Salem, where they disused issues related to road safety as well as its challenges.
They also discussed arrangements the Institute is working on in launching the “Decade of Action for Road Safety” plan for 2021-2030 under the auspices of the Prime Minister as well as efforts taken place to prepare the national road safety plan.
His Excellency emphasized the interest and commitment of the Ministry of Transportation to improve road safety in Palestine and expressed his readiness to work within the efforts led by the Palestinian National Institute of Public Health and its partners.

في إطار المساعي التطويرية المتعلقة بالسلامة على الطرق التقت الدكتورة رند سلمان مدير المعهد الوطني الفلسطيني للصحة العامة- أحد مشاريع منظمة الصحة العالمية ومسؤولي ملف السلامة المرورية د. عزت ريان و أ. محمد بني عودة بمعالي وزير النقل والمواصلات المهندس عاصم سالم وذلك بغرض نقاش موضوع السلامة على الطرق والتحديات المتعلقة بها.
حيث قامت مديرة المعهد بوضع معالي الوزير بصورة الترتيبات التي يعمل عليها المعهد لإطلاق عقد السلامة المرورية 2021-2030 تحت رعاية دولة رئيس الوزراء والجهود المبذولة من اجل بناء الخطة الوطنية القطاعية للسلامة على الطرق.
حيث أكد معالي الوزير على اهتمام والتزام وزارة النقل والمواصلات بتطوير السلامة على الطرق في فلسطين وأعرب عن استعداده للعمل ضمن الجهود التي يقودها المعهد الوطني الفلسطيني للصحة العامة مع مختلف الشركاء الاخرين.
